The source is a facsimile of the three collections: "Recueil de pièces, petits airs, brunettes, menuets, etc., avec des doubles et variations accommodé pour les flûtes traversières...", published in Paris between 1750 and 1755. The modern edition is published by SPES, Firenze, Archivum Musicum No. 48. From this edition, the editor transcribed the three preludes by Michel Blavet published at the beginning of each of the three books.
